| I am a rural GP in Selkirk, Scotland, UK, and have worked in rural practice in Scotland for nearly twenty years. I am an Associate Adviser in general practice education in South-East Scotland.Prior to this, I worked as Government Medical Officer in a remote part of rural Malawi, Central Africa for three years. During this time, I ws involved in research on endemic goitre and cretinism. I am a founder member of EURIPA, the European Rural and Isolated Practitioners' Association, and was involved in organising the WONCA World Rural Health Congress in Spain in 2003. My main interests are in rural workforce issues, coronary heart disease, rural public health and bioethics. |
