| Clinical Specialist in Community Health Nursing at the Regional Health and Welfare System of Crete. Responsible for overseeing primary health care services and personnel activities in rural health centers throughout the island of Crete. Since 2001, she has been a collaborating scientist at the Family and Social Medicine Clinic, University of Crete, participating in research projects and clinic activities.
Holds a Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Arts in Medical Anthropology from Case Western Reserve University, USA and is currently a PhD Candidate at the Division of Social Medicine, University of Crete, Greece.
Throughout her career as a board certified advanced practice nurse in the USA, she has served as a consultant for community outreach projects and assessment needs, continuing education reviewer for the Ôennessee Nurses’ Association and director of referral services for a large non-profit home care organization in New Jersey. Besides her clinical, administrative and research experience she has also taught undergraduate nursing courses at the Ôechnological Åducational Énstitute of Crete. In 2003, she was appointed expert nurse for the International Council of Nurses regarding primary health care, home care and advanced practice nursing, representing the Hellenic Nurses’ National Association
