Rural and Remote Health (RRH) is seeking Expressions of Interest from people interested in serving the rural and remote healthcare professionals and communities of this continent by becoming an African Region Associate Editor.
RRH is an international, multidisciplinary, peer-reviewed, open-access evidence base for advancing rural and remote health education, research, policy and clinical practice, with a particular emphasis on Indigenous health. It has the capacity to create instant scholarly impact in the rural communities the programs serve.
RRH is managed by a small, committed but geographically dispersed team. The successful applicant will work closely with the African Regional Editor, Professor Ian Couper, as well as the Senior Editor and Journal Manager.
Complementing the African section are Australasian, Asian, North American, European and Latin American sections, each with their own regional editorial teams.This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the rural health conversation in Africa. Younger healthcare workers and researchers will gain a wide perspective of both current research and the processes of peer review in an academic journal. More experienced researchers will have the opportunity to contribute their expertise to the advancement of rural health research.

In addition to a health or medical studies background, it is necessary to have experience in the processes of academic peer review (as author and reviewer) and competence in evaluating methodology.
This is an honorary/volunteer position. Associate Editors will have a public profile on the RRH website.
