Hoeing machine accident: a case report

Context: Agricultural accidents are determined as prominent cause of mortality and morbidity in the literature despite the less studies. The machines and equipments used in this sector frequently cause agricultural accidents. The hoeing machine is one of them and leads to tragic and severe injuries.

Issue: We present a case of subtotal leg amputation which occured after a hoeing machine accident. We monitored the patient and started initial therapies according to advanced trauma life support in the emergency service. But his right leg was severely injured therefore his right leg could not been rescued and has been amputated.

Lessons learnt: Hoeing machine accidents lead to physical disabilities due to extremity injuries and amputations.
