I am an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Nursing in the School of Nursing Midwifery and Indigenous Health at Charles Sturt University. I have many years experience teaching nursing in the tertiary sector where I have had the opportunity to teach students studying nursing by distance education.I was recognised by the Centre for Enhancing Learning and Teaching at Charles Sturt University as a 2008 Teaching Leader. More recently my involvement has been in Course Coordination and curriculum development. My main research interest is exploring the needs of students from rural and remote areas particulary Enrolled/Division 2 Nurses who are studying the Bachelor of Nursing by distance education. In 2006 my colleagues and I received a Carrick Australian Award for University Teaching. The Citation recognised our work in facilitating access and success at University for rural and remote students entering the Bachelor of Nursing by distance education.
