Daiga Behmane is one of the leading health economists in Latvia being actively involved in programs and projects aimed at stimulating efficiency in the health sector. Daiga Behmane has worked (1998-2010)in public administration institutions in the health sector heading the State Agency for Drug Pricing & Reimbursement and the Center for Health Economics of Latvia. Since 2011 her main interest is academic and research work - she is heading masters’ program in Health Management at Riga Stradins university and is involved in scientific research programs of the Institute of Public Health, especially promoting research in the field of value-based health care.
