Isabel Higgins is Professor of Older Person Nursing and Clinical Chair with the Faculty of Health, University of Newcastle and Hunter New England Local Health District. She is the lead of the School of Nursing and Midwifery's Collaborating Center for Older Person Care (CCOPC) and Chair of the newly formed HMRI Nursing and Midwifery Network, "BRICs": Building Research in Inter-professional collaborations. Isabel's research focuses on pain and symptom management, delirium prevention, nutrition and hydration during end of life care and the needs of the relatives of older people.
