Associate Professor Katharine Wallis is a GP on the Gold Coast, and academic in the Primary Care Clinical Unit at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Katharine hails from New Zealand. She gained her medical degree from the University of Otago in Dunedin, and later a master’s degree in bioethics and health law, and then a doctorate. She has worked in general practice in both the north and south islands and for both the University of Otago and the University of Auckland. Katharine’s research interests centre around patient safety, in particular supporting safer prescribing in routine practice. Her turangawaewae (spiritual home) is Wanaka, in the south of New Zealand.
