My background is in educational research (higher education), academic design & development. I'm a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), specialising in elearning and distance education. My PhD from the Faculty of Creative Industries at Queensland University of Technology is entitled: 'Caught in the Headlights: Designing for creative learning and teaching in higher education'. I have two masters degrees: one in distance education and the other in creative writing. My higher education teaching experience includes 'Leading and Managing Online Learning' (Macquarie University), 'Media and Methods' (Charles Darwin University), Communication for Indigenous students in the Health Sciences (University of Sydney), 'English for Academic Purposes' (Deakin). My research interests include medical education in regional, remote and rural settings; creativity in technology-enhanced learning environments; learning design; elearning; sharing and reuse of educational resources; and creative writing.
