Professor Sang-Chul Kim is a distinguished physician-scientist and educator in the field of Emergency Medicine at Chungbuk National University College of Medicine and a professor at Chungbuk National University Hospital in South Korea. His work integrates clinical emergency medicine, injury prevention, and health systems innovation with advanced information and communication technologies (ICT) to strengthen prehospital and hospital emergency medical services. Professor Kim has led numerous regional and national projects, including the ICT-based Emergency Medical Service (ICT-EMS) initiative in medically underserved regions, which has been recognized as a pioneering model for data-driven emergency response and hospital coordination. His research also extends to trauma systems, sudden cardiac arrest prevention, AI-based triage systems, and tele-emergency care innovation. In addition to his academic contributions, Professor Kim serves on the Law and Policy Committee of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine, the Editorial Board of the Korean Automobile Safety Association, and the Korean Society for Disaster Medicine, actively contributing to the advancement of public safety and health policy. An accomplished researcher, Professor Kim has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals such as Injury Prevention, Rural and Remote Health, and the Traffic Injury Prevention. His leadership in multidisciplinary collaboration bridges medicine, technology, and public policy to build safer, smarter emergency medical systems both in Korea and internationally.
