Jessie is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at UniSQ. She holds the governance role within the School of Nursing and Midwifery as the Program Coordinator (Charleville cohort). She holds a number of post graduate qualifications including: Masters in Science (Nurse Practitioner), Masters of Science (Research) (Advanced Research), Immunisation qualification, Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management in addition to her nursing qualifications with commencement of her PhD in 2024. Jessie's research interests include Emergency Nursing, knowledge transition and implementation with focus on employability for our graduate Registered Nurse, the use and implementation of the digital hospital within our current practice, the rural and remote nursing space and immunisation practice. Jessie is keen to take the student on the nursing journey with her and has supervised a number of Masters students. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and passion for nursing and is honored to have a part in educating our future Registered Nurses. Jessie has been involved in tertiary education delivery since 2019. Jessie began her nursing career in January 2004 and has worked at hospitals within Ipswich up to the level of Nurse Educator, CNC and After Hours Nurse Unit Manager. She is currently still working clinically where she can maintain her clinical practice, specialising in areas including Emergency Nursing, After Hours Nurse Managing, Infection prevention (Immunisation delivery), Hospital at Night Clinical Nurse Consultant and Intensive Care Nursing.
